Man barricades himself in home near Canada Games

Athletes with the Canada Games were forced out of their residences today when a man barricaded himself in a home near the Sherbrooke, Que. venue.

The man surrendered to police on Tuesday afternoon after he had been barricaded in a house since 11 a.m., on Winder Street in the Lennoxville neighbourhood.

No one was hurt in the incident, which appears to have been a domestic dispute.

CBC's Douglas Gelevan said authorities evacuated six nearby residences, which were housing athletes and volunteers with the Canada Summer Games.
