VANCOUVER - It has been a deadly few hours on roads around B.C., with four deaths reported in two separate accidents.
Three Osoyoos residents died Tuesday afternoon in a head-on crash on Highway 97 near that south Okanagan town.
Witnesses say a northbound white minivan driven by a lone woman crossed the centre line north of town and slammed into an oncoming Hyundai SUV.
The woman in the van died at the scene while the couple in the SUV were rushed to hospital but could not be saved.
And in Metro Vancouver, a pedestrian has been killed in an apparent hit-and-run on the Fraser Highway through Langley.
RCMP Insp. Davis Wendell says the victim was hit by a transport truck at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, but the big rig did not stay at the scene and Mounties have closed that busy route until further notice while they investigate. (CHBC, CKNW)
