Toronto jeweller's song to be featured on HBO's True Blood

A Toronto jeweller's 17-year-old song will play during the hit TV series True Blood's closing credits on its next episode.

"I have no idea how they found this song," said Sam Rosenbaum. "I guess you can say it's divine intervention."

While not a professional musician — though he did once perform at his son's wedding — Rosenbaum always loved music.

Seven years after his father died, Rosenbaum said his father visited him in a dream. They didn't speak, but he felt as if they had communicated non-verbally.

He woke up, went down to his basement and composed Why Did You Leave Me Now?. About a year and a half ago, the song made it onto iTunes on Liz Rodrigues's album Just a Dream.

Seventeen years after he composed it, someone from HBO's True Blood contacted Rosenbaum about the song.

It will run during the closing credits of Sunday night's episode Life Matters.
