How Canadians Put Out Highway Fires (VIDEO)

Newfoundland and Labrador does not mess around when it comes to highway fires.

When a grading vehicle and a tractor trailer collided late last month on the Trans-Labrador Highway near Churchill Falls a fire broke out. The drivers escaped the vehicles (and everyone is OK) but there was the danger that the fire might spread to the nearby wilderness.

That's where the water bomber came in.

And while it may seem like overkill to use a plane to put out a highway fire, it ensured there would be no wildfire and provided the world with some truly amazing video.

The clip has been noticed in the U.S. and U.K. where commentators have been forced to confront the reality that Canada does pretty much everything like a boss.
