Three suspects arrested Monday in connection with the slaying of a 21-year-old man at an apartment building in the city's northwest have been charged with first-degree murder.
Toronto Police arrested 19-year-old Emmanuel Ansah around 5:30 p.m. Monday, as well as two minors. All three suspects are from Toronto.
The victim, identified as Yusuf Ahmed, was found suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body around 3 p.m. Monday at an apartment building near Albion and Weston roads, in the Rexdale neighbourhood. He was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Emmanuel and the two other suspects, who cannot be named under young offenders legislation, were arrested with the co-operation of witnesses, neighbours and security camera footage.
The accused were scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m. today at 2201 Finch Ave. W.
This is the city's 36th homicide of the year.
