Every year beauty companies come out with the latest product that will improve your skin. Some of it makes sense (better sunblock) while some leave us wondering (placenta). So, what's hot this year? It's a combination of new and old, but all are affordable.

Sunblock

The Future Of Beauty Is Now: Highly Scientific Products To Use On Your Skin Immediately

Sunblock

It's still one of the best anti-aging products on the market. A sunblock of at least SPF 30 with UVA and UVB protection is your best bet for younger looking skin of any colour.

Glycolic Acid

If your skin is uneven, glycolic acid can help smoothen out the texture of your skin by encouraging cell turnover revealing younger, smoother skin.

Vitamin C

Do you have dark spots? Vitamin C can help get rid of unsightly marks. The anti-oxidant properties in the vitamin neutralize free radical atoms that can age your skin.

BB Creams

Blemish creams, AKA Beauty Balms, are for people on the go. A good BB cream hydrates, reduces the signs of aging, protects from the effects of the sun and evens and brightens your skin tone with a sheer veil of tinted moisturizer. There are also CC (colour correcting) and DD creams, but a good BB cream may be all you need.

DD Creams

What are they? Well, they're "Dynamic Do-all" creams that take the best of BB and CC creams and put it all in one tube. That way you get the anti-aging and the colour-correcting perks without having to use multiple products.

Charcoal Products

We're not suggesting you take a piece of coal and rub it all over your face, but Allure Magazine reports that activated charcoal products can help draw dirt and oil from your skin. If you live in a heavily populated area, charcoal products are a must to remove big city grime.

Serums

Serums provide a concentrated dose of moisturization to your skin. They pull in water, plump up fine lines, lighten dark spots, and should be part of your nightly skincare routine.

Hydration

What does healthy skin look like? That dewy glow is the telltale sign of healthy, moisturized skin. Hydrating creams not only keep the moisture in your skin but draw in more moisture to plump it up.

Peptides

These little protein building blocks can promote collagen and elastin production, work as antioxidants and even act like a form of botox, relaxing wrinkles.

Retinol

Talk to any dermatologist, and they will mention retinol. Why? Because applying retinol can reduce the look of wrinkles and get rid of age spots -- two things that can make you look less-than-fresh. The beauty of it is, you don't even need to go to a dermatologist! Over-the-counter products can produce excellent results.
