Convict escapes from Chicoutami prison

Police are on the lookout for a prisoner who escaped from a prison in the town of Saguenay this morning.

Saguenay police say they believe the convict scaled the prison wall during an outdoor break and fled downtown on foot.

Carl Gagnon was serving a sentence at the Chicoutimi detention centre for breaking and entering and mischief.

He was eliegible for release in 2016.

Police say the man is a black 36-year-old, who weighs about 190 lbs and stands 6’2” tall.

The man also has tattoos on his left arm and on the calf of his leg.
