Toronto Skyline Is Going To Look Insane (PHOTO)

PHOTO: Toronto Skyline Is Going To Look Insane

Just check out this projection of what Toronto's downtown may look like in the coming years.

The rendering, by Scott Dickson of Upside-Down Marketing & Design, made waves on Reddit Wednesday with users comparing Toronto's future look to the skylines of Hong Kong and Manhattan.

An "admitted skyscraper geek," Dickson says his photo "could be crazier" but that he got burnt out Photoshopping and left off around a dozen projects under development.

Not every new building in the rendering will necessarily get built, but Dickson said the "lion's share is definitely going to happen within a decade."

Perhaps the most dramatic feature in the rendering is a project that remains very much up in the air: the massive new towers flanking the CN Tower.

Oxford Place was set to include a new casino, but that idea is dead for the time being, as well as four towers and a convention centre.

Dickson thinks the development is "compelling and exciting," but can't say what its final form will take.

On the whole, he's hopeful about the future of the Toronto skyline and wants to see it take off.

"A lot of crap has been built in the condo boom ... but we've also had, and can look forward to, a few jewels."
