Free spay, neuter program coming to Prince George SPCA

The B.C. SPCA is set to receive nearly $90,000 to help tackle the problem of homeless cats in Prince George.

The SPCA aims to use the grant, provided by PetSmart Charities of Canada, to sterilize at least 800 cats over the next year.

Last year, 945 cats were rescued in Prince George.

The SPCA says that’s much higher than other B.C. cities with similar populations.

All cat guardians in the area are eligible to apply to the free spay and neuter program.

Participants are asked to donate $30 back to the fund if possible.
