Mama Moose Attacks Hunters In B.C. (VIDEO)

WATCH: Mama Moose Attacks Hunters

Two hunters late for supper got more than they bargained for after crossing paths with a mama moose and her two calves near Bosk Lake, B.C.

After tracking the young family for a few minutes down a gravel road, bear hunter Bernie Barringer and his pal Joe decided it was time to press forward to get home before their food turned cold.

Too bad mama had plans for a face-off.

“We just want to get by, lady,” said Barringer in the video right before the attack. He recounted details of the encounter in a blog post on May 30:

The hackles on the back of her neck and shoulders came up, her ears laid back and here she came. The first one was a bluff charge within 30 feet of the front of the truck, but we kept trying to sneak by her. She charged three more times, once hitting the front bumper with her head, and then as we almost got by, she rammed the truck really hard with her chest and shoulder.

Luckily everyone escaped unscathed, and the hunters were only 30 minutes late for dinner.
