Puppy's 911 call leads to owner's arrest

Ontario Provincial Police say a man was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrent after they responded to a dropped 911 call, which the man claims was made by his four-month-old puppy.

Police went to the Trenton Ward residence at 10:30 a.m. ET on Friday.

The man at the home said the dog stepped on the phone and it accidentally called 911. Police checked further into the man's records and found out he had an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in court in April.

The man was arrested and taken to the Belleville police station where he was later released.

The news release by police suggested the dog may be an "up and coming police K9."
