Suspect arrested in Abbotsford stabbing

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing in Abbotsford on Thursday.

Abbotsford Police say they were called to the 32700 block of George Ferguson Way around 1:30 p.m. PT after reports of a man who entered the Kosmetae Hair Salon with a serious abdominal wound.

Police says he told the people in the salon that he had been stabbed by a man he was having an altercation with in the parking lot.

Const. Ian MacDonald said officers located a suspect not far from the scene.

"He actually was walking within just a couple blocks of the scene of the incident itself," MacDonald said.

"He was taken into custody without any concerns or considerations and our major crimes investigators will be continuing at this point."

MacDonald said both men know each other and are both are known to police.

The injured man was transported to hospital via air ambulance. His condition is not known, but he was conscious and communicative with first responders at the time.
