Man wounded in Rivière-des-Prairies shooting

A 22-year-old man is in hospital recovering from wounds to his upper body after a shooting in the Rivière-des-Prairies neighbourhood in Montreal's east end yesterday.

Police responded to several 911 calls at around 5:40 p.m., but when they arrived at the scene on Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard near Pierre-Baillargeon Avenue, the only evidence they could find was a bullet mark on the outside wall of a house.

Twenty minutes later, the wounded man — who police say is known to the — showed up at a hospital.

He was not critically injured and is refusing to cooperate with police.

Late Saturday evening, Montreal police said they had established a link between the individual and the location of the shooting.
