Police say the robberies took place in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and Kipling Avenue area between Aug. 17 and Sept. 1.
It is alleged that the same suspect robbed four retail stores and in one case assaulted a shopkeeper.
Police allege that the suspect also robbed two banks and claimed to have a handgun.
A 34-year-old man faces four counts of robbery, two counts of robbery while armed with a firearm, four weapons dangerous counts and six counts of failing to comply with probation.
