Edmonton woman charged with using pitbull as weapon in fight with others

EDMONTON - An Edmonton woman has been charged with assault with a weapon — a dog.

Police say they got a call on Thursday about a verbal fight between a woman with a dog and four strangers in the area of 118 Avenue and 101 Street.

The woman allegedly released the pitbull and it attacked one of the strangers, a 34-year-old woman.

Police say the woman got minor injuries and animal control officers seized the dog.

Courtney Vye, who is 31, has been charged.
