The Philadelphia Flyers announced that the team has signed veteran defenceman Hal Gill to training camp on a try-out basis.
Gill will attend the team's camp, which begins on Sept. 12 at the Wells Fargo Center.
The former Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs defender appeared in 32 games with the Nashville Predators last season, registering no points, 12 penalty minutes and a minus-three rating. In the 2011-12 season, Gill tallied five assists, eight penalty minutes and a plus-four rating in 23 games with the Preds.
The 6-foot-7 native of Massachusetts has played 1,102 NHL games, recording 184 points and 960 penalty minutes.
Gill won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009.
