B.C.'s summer is back in full force this week

B.C. can expect sunny skies and summer warmth with climbing temperatures for the next few days, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe. That's thanks to a high-pressure ridge off the west coast that will stick around until at least the start of the weekend.

Looks like the peak heat will come Wednesday with daytime highs near 25 C for the Vancouver airport, but more like 30 C inland. Many records will likely fall.

Overnight temperatures will be more comfortable, but lead to morning fog for at least the next couple of days, lingering through to late morning for some.

At this point, it looks like the pattern breaks down on Sunday with an approaching low-pressure system.
