Record heat ahead for Vancouver

Apart from the early morning fog, blue skies and warming temperatures will continue this week for much of B.C., says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

A high-pressure system is now well in place, with Wednesday's inland temperatures reaching 30 C, breaking daily records across the South Coast.

Fog on Thursday and Friday may be more extensive and linger a little longer, but warm temperatures and sunny afternoons will continue as the high-pressure system holds off the coast, directing weather up and over towards B.C.'s northwest coast.

It looks like the summer weather will hold through Saturday, before the weather pattern begins to break down, and we see a return to fall conditions early next week.
