Christopher Peloso, husband of former Ontario deputy premier and health minister George Smitherman, has been found alive according to media reports.

CityNews reported that a man matching Peloso's description was found by police on Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: Christopher Peloso was found near Lansdowne and Dupont Avenues before 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, CBC reported.

A K-9 unit located him near railway tracks.

Police said they tracked down his cellphone signal and had received tips about Peloso's location from the public.

Smitherman tweeted his appreciation to the Toronto Police.

Peloso married Smitherman in 2007 and the pair have two adopted children.
