MONCTON, N.B. - The New Brunswick government has contributed $360,000 towards the development of a new shelter for victims of domestic violence.
The provincial government says the money for Crossroads for Women Inc. will help buy a property that will be converted into a new shelter for women and children in the Moncton region.
The organization currently operates a 17-bed transition house.
Under the Social Development Department's shelter enhancement program, $300,000 will be provided over the next two years, while the Women's Equality branch will contribute $60,000.
