Enjoy the sun before storm rolls in Friday

A brief high-pressure system is bringing generally dry conditions with a nice mix of sun and cloud to southern B.C. for Wednesday and Thursday, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

The next Pacific storm system will reach the Central Coast Wednesday night, and slide down to Vancouver for Friday.

Ahead of the system, temperatures will climb back into the 20s on Thursday for a summer-like day across the South Coast.

However, there are already wind warnings in place for Haida Gwaii and coastal sections for winds up to 100 km/h Wednesday night and Thursday, along with upwards of 60 mm of rain.

The South Coast will feel the effects of this storm beginning Friday with wind and rain. Showers will stick around Vancouver for the weekend with temperatures dropping back to the teens.
