NDP Leader Adrian Dix to speak on political future today

Embattled NDP Leader Adrian Dix is set to announce details on his political future later today.

Dix is slated to hold a news conference in Vancouver this afternoon, where he is expected to resign as party leader.

Dix has been under pressure to step down since the NDP’s election loss in May — an election the party was widely assumed to win.

Many within the party blame Dix for the defeat given his control over the party's election priorities and messaging.

It’s not clear if Dix will step down immediately and appoint an interim leader or remain at the helm until a new party leader is chosen, which could take several months.
