Quebec provincial police officer arrested for alleged intimidation

MONTREAL - A Quebec provincial police officer has been suspended with pay after being arrested by Montreal police for alleged intimidation and assault.

The officer was one of four people detained Wednesday for the alleged incidents in the Montreal-area community of Beaconsfield in 2012.

Beaconsfield issued a statement after being informed of the arrests and said the accused targeted city personnel.

Montreal police Lt. Ian Lafreniere confirmed the four people were released after they promised to appear in court at a later date.<
