Chilliwack Baby Dead: Male Suspect Released By Police

Suspect Released In Baby's Death

Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 14-month-old baby in Chilliwack on Friday.

Mounties arrived at a home in the city's Promontory area just after 10 p.m. and found a baby girl in medical distress, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said in a Saturday news release.

UPDATE: The man arrested in connection with the death of a Chilliwack baby has been released without charges, IHIT said in a Monday news release.

The baby was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead just after 11 p.m.

Police suspect foul play in the baby's death and an autopsy will determine why she died.

No charges have been filed against the suspect and police will release no further information about him.
