Nature's savagery is on full display in a video that shows a cougar dragging a deer out of a bush near Powell River.
A YouTube video posted by Jordan Ciarniello on Sept. 15 shows the cougar pulling its prey across a road near the head of Goat Lake.

In a startling moment, the cougar stares right into the camera before dragging the deer out of sight.
"Oh, he's getting ready to attack right now," says a voice in the video.
This isn't the first time that a cougar has been caught in action in B.C.
Two dogs were seen chasing a big cat off a Victoria property earlier this month, while in July a cougar was filmed swimming towards a boat in Nootka Sound.
