Avril Hasn't Changed Since She Was A Teen

Avril Lavigne is just one year closer to turning the big 3-0 but the Canadian pop star's style hasn't changed a bit since she burst onto the music scene when she was a teenager.

We first met the Napanee, Ont.-bred singer when she released her debut single "Complicated" in 2002; back then, Avril rocked Chucks, ties, streaked hair, raccoon eyes, lots of red eye shadow and tons of attitude.

These days, the 29-year-old (she shares her birthday with Gwyneth Paltrow on Sept. 27), still wears the same uniform: Loads of eye makeup, and lots and lots of black.

Heck, Avril basically admitted in her 2013 song "Here's To Never Growing Up" that she, obviously, doesn't want to age. In the song's music video, Chad Kroeger's wife is dressed in her usual attire of ties and raccoon eyes.

So, in honour of the birthday girl, we take a look at Avril's never-changing style.
