Drake, Rob Ford Awkwardly Tout Raptors Rebrand, 2016 All-Star Game (TWEETS)

Drake Awkwardly Hangs Out With Rob Ford

Toronto Raptors super-fan Drake got to do something pretty awesome on Monday morning.

The Toronto-born rapper was named a global ambassador for the NBA team and helped Raptors management and the NBA announce the city will be hosting the 2016 All-Star Game, the first time the week-long basketball derby will be held outside of the United States.

Of course, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was also there to make things look a bit awkward for everyone. A number of cheeky commenters joked about having Drake, probably one of the most recognizable rappers in the world and dater of R & B stars, sitting next to the city's scandal-plagued mayor.

Sadly, no reporters asked Mayor Ford whether he was a Drake fan so we're spared his rendition of "Take Care."

This isn't the first time Drake and Ford have joined forces. Earlier this summer Drake's OVO label announced that it was forming a partnership with the city.
