If you want your Halloween costume to be of the most talked about person on the planet, look no further than the Duchess of Cambridge herself, Kate Middleton.

Duchess Kate is more popular than ever this year thanks to giving birth to the future King of England, Prince George, her down-to-earth nature and of course, her impeccable style.

Kate's easy, accessible look doesn't have to cost as much as an Alexander McQueen gown (although by all means go and spend your well-earned cash on a Sarah Burton original).

Here are our tips on how to dress like you're worth a few million pounds à la Kate for Halloween.

Kate Middleton's Style

1. Get Wiggy With It

One of Middleton's most recognizable features lies in her glossy, wavy hair. Find a long, dark brown wig and curl the ends to give the hair a boost of volume, princess-styles or if you have long hair, give it the best blow-out of its life.

2. Perfect Your Eyeliner

Kate doesn't wear a lot of makeup so the dark eyeliner she sports always stands out. Just take your favourite black pencil liner and line both the tops and bottoms of your lids.

3. The Ring

You know the one we're talking about. Prince William gave Kate his late mom Princess Diana's 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring when he proposed in 2010. Since you're not likely to drop some heavy change on a replica, try out eBay for lots of cheap imitations. We promise that your royal court will be dazzled.

4. Wedding Bells

If you want to go as Kate the Bride (remember that famous Alexander McQueen wedding dress?) check out second-hand stores and your local Value Village and Goodwill to dig out vintage wedding dress finds. Just don't forget to have a friend go as Pippa Middleton, who will hold your veil for you.

5. Glamorous Gowns

This one is easy. Kate has sported a multitude of dresses from the sparkly to the romantic and everything in between. Just remember that Kate is a master of finding tailored clothes which show off her waist so either cinch it in with a belt or find a gown that will highlight your middle. And don't forget to perfect your princess wave for when the commoners beg you to hug them.

6. On Weekends

Kate doesn't spend all her days at galas, you guys. Prince George's mum is known for taking time out of her busy royal schedule to go grocery shopping, take walks in the park and make McDonald's runs. (She's just like us!) So if you're not feeling like wearing a wedding dress or a ballgown, go casual with a pair of dark skinny jeans, a striped tee, navy blazer and riding boots. We bet you will be the warmest person come Halloween night.

7. Shoes, Shoes Shoes

The Duchess' go-to shoes are her signature nude L.K. Bennett pumps which she has worn over and over again while still looking fresh and fabulous. These can be found in literally any shoe store at your local mall or department store. Nude heels never go out of style.

8. Accessories

Her gigantic ring notwithstanding, Prince William's wife loves to accessorize with small clutches, nude pantyhose, belts and scarves and lots and lots of hats.

9. Someday My Prince Will Come

But arguably the most important accessory is Kate's hubby, Prince William. Since it's not likely you're going to steal away Prince Harry from Cressida Bonas between now and Oct. 31, we suggest either going with a boyfriend or friend who can play along with you. If no one is willing, well, you can always print out a lifesize cutout of Wills.

10. Crazy For Baby

If you can't find a man to be your prince, take the easier route and get a baby. (No, not a real one!) Your local dollar store or toy shop will have a variety of cheap dolls you can dress up as your own wee Prince George. For a bonus point, print out the baby's birth certificate!
