A few B.C. showers Saturday, sunny breaks on the weekend

After another gorgeous start to the day, clouds are steadily rolling in ahead of a frontal system that is sliding south, says CBC meteorlogist Johanna Wagstaffe.

Right now, the front is draped over the Central Coast where there are wind warnings in place for 100+ km/h wind gusts tonight.

By this evening, we may see a few showers show up as far south as Powell River, Squamish and the North Shore. But the system basically stalls out in that position keeping most of Metro Vancouver dry over the weekend. Our best chance to see showers will be tomorrow morning, but we will also see some good sunny breaks both tomorrow and Sunday.

The front finally moves through Vancouver on Monday, dropping our temperatures back down to the low teens. Enjoy milder afternoons until then.
