Countdown clocks at crosswalks might lead to more accidents

Countdown clocks at pedestrian crossings might actually lead to more accidents, according to a new study.

Researchers from SickKids Hospital looked at the number of collisions between pedestrians and motor vehicles at 1,965 intersections across the city.

They found that after countdown clocks were installed at these intersections, the number of accidents increased by 26 per cent.
