Maple Leafs tailgate party marks home opener

Leafs fans filled the grounds outside the Air Canada Centre Saturday for a tailgate party marking the team’s first home game of the season.

The Leafs are hosting the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night in a Battle of Ontario.

“This is how playoffs are made,” said one fan attending the tailgate party. “You got to do it from the start.”

Another fan compared his support for the team to being “like a family.”

“No matter what struggles that the Leafs go through, we’re always here no matter what,” he said.
