A Kamloops man, who is stuck in Jamaica because he travelled to that country without his Canadian passport, says he expects to return to B.C. tomorrow.
Dwayne Thomas received his Canadian citizenship papers in late September and said Canadian immigration and border officers assured him he could use his citizenship certificate and Jamaican passport to travel to Jamaica and back for his grandmother's funeral.

But when he tried to fly home, Air Canada wouldn't allow him on the plane without a Canadian passport.
Thomas was originally told he would have to wait up to three weeks in Jamaica for a passport. But after CBC News reported his story, Thomas says passport officials expedited the process.
"I can't wait to get this thing behind me, board a flight and get back home in Canada with my family," he told CBC News.
"Oh, I can't wait to see them, I miss them. This is the first I've ever been away from them. I can't wait to see my family, I miss my family."
Thomas expects to receive his passport Tuesday morning and board a flight later that day.
