HNIC Radio: Ron MacLean OK with Brad Stuart suspension

Ron MacLean says he agrees with the three-game suspension given to San Jose Sharks forward Brad Stuart.

The Hockey Night in Canada host chatted with Rob Pizzo and Cassie Campbell-Pascal on Hockey Night in Canada Radio on SiriusXM Thursday about Stuart's illegal check to the head of New York Rangers forward Rick Nash.

"We've got a problem," MacLean said about headshots. "And this [Stuart's hit] is an example of it. So I'm A-OK with it. And obviously Nash got hurt, which makes me wonder if three [games] is enough."

Later in the interview, MacLean also said Stuart's teammate Tomas Hertl should have thought twice about pulling a trick move in the Sharks' 9-2 blowout of the Rangers on Tuesday.

"That's an unwritten code of life called 'karma' and that's as simple as it gets," MacLean said. "The Rangers won't forget it and no team in hockey is going to forget what this San Jose Sharks kid did. So they're going to be on the lookout for this kid now and he's drawn attention to himself."
