Impaired driving charges laid in fatal Richmond crash

The driver of a car that crashed into a tree killing two teenage brothers in Richmond last year has been charged with impaired driving causing death.

Ryan Jeffrey Webster of Richmond is facing two charges of impaired driving causing death and two charges of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 mgs causing death, according to a statement released by RCMP Cpl. Stephanie Ashton.

The crash happened on May 12, 2012 near Steveston and 4 Road. The two young brothers, Jess Moses, 16, and Shane Moses, 19, were passengers in the 2006 BMW when it swerved off the road and crashed into a tree.  

Webster, who was 20 at the time of the incident, is scheduled to appear in Richmond court on Nov. 28, 2013.
