The "12 Years A Slave" buzz may be all about its star Chiwetel Ejiofor, but actress Lupita Nyong'o is making her own waves, on and off-screen.
The Kenyan actress, who made her film debut playing the fearless Patsey in the Steve McQueen-directed flick, has been rocking the red carpet in vibrant and fashion-forward looks which put most of her peers (we're looking at you, Kristen Stewart!) to shame.
Lupita made her red carpet debut at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival, wearing a summer white Prada gown with a gold sequin mock bodice.
The 30-year-old went on to surprise us in avant-garde ensembles such as the neon yellow funnel neck sweater she wore at a press conference and a dreamy print Miu Miu pleated frock she sported at the "12 Years A Slave" L.A. premiere.
Most recently, the dark-eyed beauty accepted the New Hollywood Award at the Hollywood Film Awards and showed off her super toned arms in a saffron yellow J. Mendel gown, which featured a triangular keyhole cutout and a mini layered train.
Not only does she dress well, but she has perfected her makeup. The Yale School of Drama grad rocked a sweet but edgy beauty look at a "12 Years A Slave" premiere, which highlighted her flawless skin and bright eyes.
Check out her new but fierce style:
