EDMONTON - Investigators are reviewing an arrest made by Edmonton police that injured a man who was sent to hospital in serious condition.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) says the arrest happened late Thursday night just north of the downtown area.
Investigators won't release the nature of the man's injuries or say how he was hurt, but media reports say he was not shot.
Edmonton police won't say if the man was zapped with a Taser or if he was struck by an officer.
ASIRT, which reports to Alberta's Justice Department, will only say that the man was hurt while police were trying to arrest him.
ASIRT's mandate is to investigate incidents involving serious injury or death of any person that may have resulted from the actions of a police officer.
