It's a word you hear on playgrounds, locker rooms and even among friends just joking around. It's the word retarded. But that doesn't mean the word doesn't hurt.
Nova Scotia artist Robb Scott sent us this video of a poem he recorded for his son, who has Down's Syndrome.

"It's about how the word retard hurts, and how I hope he's able to deal with it as he grows older," he writes.
"He taught me that words aren't an afterthought. They're weapons, they're used for good or not," Scott says in the video.
"So I've got to build him an armoured heart. So this word won't tear my son's apart," he adds.
A powerful message. Thanks Robb.
