Alberta Plans To Add Bus Only, Carpool Lanes To Provincial Highways

Fort McMurray's highway to the oilsands would get bus-only lanes under new provincial legislation that would also allow carpool lanes on Deerfoot Trail and Calgary's ring road.

Alberta cities can already dedicate traffic lanes for high-occupancy vehicles on urban streets, such as the Centre Street carpool/bus lanes and the bus-only shoulder lanes of Crowchild Trail.
