Alberta Transportation Minister Ric McIver Eyes Demerits For Those Flouting Alberta's Distracted Driving Law

Alberta will toughen penalties for distracted driving in the face of widespread flouting of the two-year-old legislation, Alberta Transportation Minister Ric McIver said Monday.

Including demerits along with the existing fine that now sits at $172 for using cellphones or other distractions while behind the wheel will be considered, said McIver.
