Kate Bosworth just took braids to a whole new level.
The 30-year-old actress looked gorgeous on the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie, "Big Sur," on Monday night. The star, who was accompanied by her hubby, Michael Polish, wore a long black Christopher Kane gown with jewel encrusted spiders around the neckline and waist, along with silver branch-like earrings and a black clutch.
Known for her elegant and low-key hair and beauty looks, the Lucky Magazine cover girl really stepped it up this time with her gorgeous braided faux-hawk (our favourite part of the look). The actress' blond locks were swept into an elaborate updo that featured her hair slicked back on the sides and braided on different directions in the middle of her head.
The updo has been described as the "spinal-plait," as it runs vertical like the spine, and it's been gaining popularity since making an appearance at the Todd Lynn fall 2011 runway show.
The recently-married stunner has worn braided styles before, but never quite like this. The hairstyle showed off the "Blue Crush" actress' stunning bone structure — and those signature different coloured eyes. She kept her makeup simple with just a touch of blush and some pink lip gloss.
The actress has recently been in the news since she announced the launch of her clothing line with U.K. mega retailer, Topshop. "The Collection," as it's been creatively dubbed, will included luxe items such as leather pants and sheepskin coats, and will come in a palette of mostly black, white, red, and tan. The line offers pieces that remain faithful to Bosworth's signature style.
