Woman dies after being struck in Forest Hill intersection

A 90-year-old woman died after being struck by a car in a Forest Hill intersection on Wednesday morning.

Toronto police say they were called to the scene of a collision near Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue West at 10:22 a.m.

Police say the woman was crossing the road, when she was struck by a southbound vehicle that was moving across Eglinton Avenue West toward Chiltern Hill Road.

Const. Clint Stibbe said the victim was trying to cross on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West when she was hit.

The victim suffered serious, life-threatening injuries in the collision, which she died of, Stibbe said.

Stibbe said the driver is a 58-year-old man who stayed at the scene and is co-operating with police.
