B.C. South Coast showers back, cool week ahead

Showers are returning Monday night for B.C.'s South Coast after a nice break from the rain in recent days, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

Light rain is already crossing Vancouver Island Monday afternoon, but Vancouver should stay dry until around 8 p.m. PT, thanks to a weak frontal system that will keep the showers going through to Tuesday morning.

The Fraser Valley and East Vancouver will see the showers linger longer than coastal sections for Tuesday, but Vancouver and Victoria should see the sun again by the afternoon.

Temperatures will still be on the cool side all week with highs around 8 C. A stronger system will move in for Wednesday night for a stormy Thursday.
