CROSSFIELD, Alta. - A five-year-old boy injured in a school bus crash in southern Alberta is out of intensive care in a Calgary hospital.
Crossfield Mayor Nathan Anderson says the child is awake, no longer on a ventilator and opening his eyes.
Two other students who were also sent to hospital with critical injuries were sent home last week.
The bus collided with a large pickup truck at a rural intersection near the town of Crossfield on Oct. 25.
The front end of the bus was crushed and the vehicle ended up against a guard rail in a ditch.
Six other children and the female bus driver were less seriously injured.
