If there’s any silver lining to Rob Ford’s growing crack and video scandals, it’s that the mayor’s office is proving to be a beacon for beloved 1980s WWE stars — much to the thrill of wrestling geeks.
Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake showed up at Toronto City Hall Thursday — giant novelty shears in hand — voicing his concern for the mayor after watching a new explicit video featuring Ford.
He even volunteered to be the mayor’s “angel of mercy.”
“Maybe if he gets his body right, he will be able to get his mind right,” said Beefcake.
Then, with his giant arms, he hoisted a Belly Buster submarine sandwich — a shameless promotion which got Beefcake and his entrepreneurial pal unceremoniously escorted out of Nathan Phillips Square.
A day earlier, former wrestler the Iron Sheik showed up at City Hall to challenge Ford to an arm wrestling match. Sheik was in town for a comedy roast Thursday, an event also sponsored by Belly Buster Submarines.
