Dinara A, Turkmen Mother, Caught Selling Baby At Istanbul Airport (VIDEO)

Mother Caught On Tape Trying To Sell Baby At Airport

Police have arrested a woman after she allegedly tried to sell her baby at Sabiha Gokcen airport in Istanbul back in September.

Closed-circuit footage released to the public and later uploaded on YouTube shows Dinara A, an illegal immigrant from Turkmenistan, arriving at the Turkish airport with the infant in a baby carrier and the child's grandmother, Sapia A.

The 22-year-old mother is later seen talking on the phone, apparently with a German couple originally from Turkey who were reportedly looking to buy the child for 1000 Turkish lira, the equivalent of $512, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The footage shows Dinara entering the women's washroom inside the airport then leaving without the baby and the carrier. Later, the woman from the couple is seen entering and walking out with the same baby carrier.

Police told the Irish Independent the exchange would have gone through, but the couple wasn't able to clear airport security when they realized they didn't have the proper documents for the four-month infant.

That's when they allegedly called police saying they had found a baby abandoned inside the washroom. Airport officials then reviewed security cameras which filmed the whole incident. Police caught the mother who had yet to leave the airport and returned the baby.

The two were, along with the grandmother, later deported from Turkey while the German woman was later released by police after providing evidence about the failed deal, according to the UK Mirror.
