Vintage Japanese Beauty Ads From 1950s Still Hold Up And Are Super Cute (PHOTOS)

Beauty and fashion advertisements can be seen as a reflection of the times in which they were created (see: Dove's "Campaign for Real Beauty," Yves Saint Laurent's Opium ad and L'Oreal's Beyoncé campaign for some modern examples).

But some countries seem to always get it right, even when the ads in question were created more than half a century ago.

BuzzFeed Rewind compiled and posted adorable and slick vintage Japanese ads which still hold up today even though they were made in the 1950s.

The advertisements feature promotions for beauty products such as nail polish and lotion as well as household products such as light bulbs, cocoa and even bread.

Filled with cute drawings of wide-eyed girls, art deco influences and eye-catching images, the ads seem to be very modern despite their age.
