Bell Media

Casting for the second season of the popular reality show was announced during the broadcast of the American "The Amazing Race." Our version will air on CTV in the summer of 2014, with current host Jon Montgomery back at the helm.

Starting November 10, viewers across Canada can go online and submit an audition video and application for their chance to be a part of the second season of "The Amazing Race Canada." The deadline for entries is December 26, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Potential teams of two are encouraged to submit videos that showcase their personalities and explain their motivation for why they deserve to win.

Steps For Applicants:

Step 1: Make one video that shows us your personality as a team. Be sure to focus on your relationship positives and negatives. Remember we want to see you interact together as a team.

Step 2: Take up-close photos of (a) you alone; (b) your teammate alone; and (c) you and your teammate together. You should save these three photos to your computer so that they are ready when you fill out the online application.

Step 3: Completely fill out the online application (one per team). You and your teammate will need to read and agree to the online agreement and release. You also need to make sure you are eligible to take part in the race.

Step 4: You will need to upload your video, your individual and team photos as part of the application process.

Step 5: "The Amazing Race Canada" casting team will contact you if you are selected to move forward in the casting process.

Among the eligibility requirements that should be noted for applications for "The Race":

-- Competitors must be at least 19 years of age by April 1, 2014.

-- Competitors must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.

For a full list of requirements, visit the official application site.

"We hope that the tremendous success of Season 1 of 'The Amazing Race Canada' will inspire even more Canadians to step up to the mat for Season 2," said Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports. "With so many wonderfully diverse people in this country, from all walks of life and backgrounds, the second season promises to be even more heart-racing than the first."

"We knew immediately that we had something special on our hands, we had a terrific cast and an exciting host -- and that magic clearly resonated with Canadians," said John Brunton, Executive Producer, Insight Productions. "Season 1 was a love letter to Canada that blossomed into a full-blown, record-smashing love affair with Canadians. We couldn't be more proud to deliver Season 1, and can't wait to get started on Season 2."

Canada’s most-watched program of the summer, and the #2 program of the entire broadcast year, "Amazing Race Canada" had an average audience of 3.3 million viewers each week. The original series vaulted into the record books earlier this summer as the biggest debut on record for a series in Canada (3.5 million viewers), and has kept pace ever since.
