Man dead after targeted home invasion, police say

SURREY, B.C. - A man is dead following what homicide investigators say was a targeted home invasion in Surrey, east of Vancouver.

Sgt. Adam MacIntosh, with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, says fire crews and an ambulance went to a residence (on King George Boulevard) on Saturday night to attend to an injured man.

MacIntosh says when the emergency personnel arrived, they realized the circumstances around the man's injuries were suspicious, so they called the police.

The man was pronounced dead after he was taken to the hospital.

MacIntosh says the investigation is still in its early stages, but police have determined that the man was the victim of a targeted home invasion.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the police.
