Red Lake, Ont., plane crash kills 5

Five people are dead after a Bearskin Airlines plane crashed near Red Lake, Ont., airport Sunday evening.

Seven people, including two pilots, were on board the flight from Sioux Lookout, said police. It crashed at 7:34 p.m. near the airport.

Two passengers sitting near the back of the plane survived. A male passenger climbed out of the wreckage after the crash and called the police. After the emergency call, he rescued a female passenger.

It is unclear what the weather conditions were at the time of the crash.

The plane crash took down some power lines and Red Lake experienced a power outage.
