Craig Cobb Charged: White Supremacist Accused Of Terrorism (VIDEO)

White Supremacist Charged With Terrorism

A white supremacist leader who used to live in Vancouver has been charged with terrorizing people in the small town where he hopes to establish a neo-Nazi enclave.

Craig Cobb and follower Kynan Dutton have been charged with seven counts of terrorizing people in Leith, N.D. after allegedly carrying out an armed patrol in the community, The Province reported.

If convicted, both men face minimum sentences of two years in jail for each charge.

Cobb plans to represent himself in court while Dutton has asked for a public defender, The Associated Press reported.

The charges come after two incidents last Saturday in which Cobb and Dutton allegedly patrolled the town with guns drawn, while a woman named Deborah Dutton recorded their interactions with townsfolk on a cell phone.

In one incident, Cobb and Kynan Dutton confronted local councilman Lee Cook and Gregory Bruce at the edge of the politician's property. Dutton had his finger on a rifle trigger but the guns were not pointed at them, The Bismarck Tribune reported.

"He thought he was something. He thinks he owns this town," Cook said.

In another incident, Cobb and Dutton allegedly followed Leith resident Miller Ferrie to her home before she called 911 in hysterics as her husband spoke with the men outside.

Cobb told the Tribune via text that he was patrolling the community because he felt threatened: "Because of the many violences (sic) and harassments against we (sic) and the children, we have commenced armed patrols of Leith."

In a separate text he revealed his plans to rename some of his property the "Adolph Hitler Pvt. Park of Leith."

The 62-year-old man, a dual citizen of Canada and the United States, has bought up 13 properties in Leith in an effort to establish a haven for white supremacists and has encouraged followers to move to the town.

Grant County records indicate that Cobb has transferred ownership of two lots to Tom Metzger, a former grand dragon of the Ku Klux Klan in California, and Alex Linder, owner of the Vanguard News Network, a neo-Nazi website, USA Today reported.

Cobb was arrested in Vancouver in 2010 for allegedly promoting hate but he later fled the country and is wanted on a nationwide warrant.

More recently, Cobb learned in an appearance on the U.K.'s "Trisha Show" that he is 14 per cent Sub-Saharan African.
